A couple weeks ago we received a contact request at 2am on Saturday morning. We do receive requests for proposals or people signing up on all days of the week and at all hours of the day so this in itself wasn’t unusual. We had one of our Lakeland sales team reps contact them later that same day to see how we may be of service. They were thrilled and surprised someone would contact them on a Saturday.
During this call we discover that they are opening a new cheerleading focused gymnasium here in Lakeland and that all advertising and marketing materials were already being sent out. These marketing flyers and direct mail pieces are displaying their website address and instructing people to sign up online.
Sounds great, exciting, what’s the problem? We are then told the company that was to build their website wouldn’t be able to do it and the gym was due to open in less than a week and online signups were to commence in (4) days. Ouch, that’s a tough spot to be in.
