Know the purpose of the website
The first thing that a web designer will ask you is about the purpose of the website. If it’s a personal website, he would want to know the goal of your website. Why do you want a website for your blog, for example? Is it for business, too? Or do you simply want a space on the world wide web where you can post about your thoughts? If it’s a business, what kind of business do you have? An e-commerce website? An e-commerce website is designed differently from a general information website. Open to comments and suggestions
Some clients have an exact design in mind for their website. For whatever reason they have, they think this design will help their websites reach its goals. However, web designers study different trends and they attend seminars and workshops to develop their skills. It is wise to listen also to their ideas because they only want the best for your websites, too. They will not put their names and their reputations on the line just to play with you. Whatever they suggest, they believe this is the right road to take for your website.
Pays on time
Finally, when the project is done, pay the company and the designers. It’s rude to hold the payment until such time that you see the fruits of your investment, which some clients actually do. The contract specifies when the payment should be made—which is usually on the day the designer finished and finalized the project. When a client defers on his payables, the company will have to bear that loss of expected profit. While many companies can carry that burden, startup website design companies will have a hard time dealing with such an act. Once you are satisfied with the website, pay the company and the designer.
